Armstrong Kitchens
60 Years and Going Strong
The story of Armstrong Kitchens is about continuity, stability and family. Sixty years ago, Mark and Betty Armstrong started their business in Merriam when the local kitchen industry was just beginning. Their shop produced so much cabinetry that today some of the kitchens we remodel in older suburbs already have Armstrong Cabinets as original equipment.
In the early 1980s, they were joined in business by daughter Kristeen and son-in-law Lowell, the present owners. Kristeen and Lowell gradually altered the focus of the company, moving it toward designing and providing entire kitchens. The modern Armstrong Kitchens has full general contracting and electrical/mechanical licensing throughout the metro and features a full-line showroom in Overland Park, with award-winning National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA)-certified interior designers who specialize in kitchen and bath design.
Our work represents the very latest in kitchen and bath design because our designers constantly keep their NKBA certifications current. In fact, Kristeen teaches Kitchen and Bath Design for the NKBA's only endorsed college program in Kansas at Johnson County Community College (JCCC). Designs and products are cutting-edge, but Armstrong Kitchens runs on methods proven successful more than 60 years ago through a continuous multigenerational family operation.
