Formerly the Shangri-La Resort, The Peninsula Resort and Club features a 36-hole championship golf course that received a 4.5-star rating from Golf Digest magazine. Check out the men’s and women’s golf associations 2009 schedule online, and be sure to abide by the dress code: no denim, no cut-offs, shirts must have sleeves and collars, and use soft spikes only.

The Grand Cherokee State Park Course offers a driving range, pro shop, club and cart rentals, and group or individual lessons, plus an amazing view of Pensacola Dam. This course offers tree-lined fairways, bentgrass greens and few water hazards.

The Coves at Bird Island

This private 18-hole golf course is situated in the Duck Creek area. Some of its features include multilevel greens, gently sloping fairways, a 16-acre golf practice facility and a pro shop with certified staff members. Use your own golf cart if you’d like, and schedule your own tee time.

Owned by the Peoria Indian Tribe of Oklahoma, this 18-hole championship golf course offers players five sets of tee boxes to accommodate all skill levels, a practice facility with driving range, and putting and chipping greens that allow for practice time before the big tournament.

This 9-hole, par-36 golf course has been open to the public for 30 years and features large mature trees and hilly terrain. Club and cart rentals are available. If you’d rather work on your swing or putting stance, visit the driving range and practice area for an alternative to the links.
