Specifically sited to enhance the spectacular lake views on Lake Lotawana, this Mission-style home also was built to preserve mature oak trees surrounding the property. The living room provides a connection through transom windows above sliding glass doors, while the second level houses an open sitting room with access to a covered deck. The real draw of the home is the series of outdoor living areas connected by ramped walkways and a tram. The upper terrace contains a stone patio, fireplace, barbeque and sink. Seating is conveniently designed into the retaining walls, hearth and upholstered daybed under the arbor, which was constructed from large-scale cedar timbers. The curved deck appears to float above the lake with custom laminated glass and iron railings.

This reverse 1½-story home is filled with imported ironwork, inlays, radius top alder doors, moss rock fireplaces and beamed ceilings. Most of the doors, cabinets, iron and light fixtures were imported from Mexico — features you won’t see every day. It has massive stonework, Venetian plaster walls, Canterra columns and custom iron gates. Another perk is the Mesquite wood butler’s pantry with copper-stamped doors and a copper top. The home’s front courtyard is decorated with a fireplace and fountain, giving guests something to talk about as they enter. The backyard was made for entertaining with its large covered veranda, outside bar, cooking area and gas fire pit.
